How To Install Android 9.0 Pie Open Beta 1 On The OnePlus 6

At Google’s I/O Conference earlier this year, the company announced the latest version of Android, Android 9 Pie, and made history with it. For the first time, Google announced that the Developer Preview of this new Android version would be available to certain non-Pixel devices. The OnePlus 6 happened to be one of such devices.

With the official public release of Android 9 Pie last week, it was only a matter of time before the general release was made available for the OnePlus 6. Already, some HTC and Sony smartphones are already confirmed to receive Android 9.0 Pie Update soon.

OnePlus has taken to its forums to announce the availability of an Android Pie Open Beta 1 to users of the OnePlus 6. This first Open Beta includes the latest version of OxygenOS. This is basically the minimal skin that OnePlus adds to Android to incorporate special features in their devices.

Of course, since this is a beta release, it is possible that some stuff will not work, and that your mileage may vary. One of the most prominent things that is absent in Open Beta 1 is Google Pay support.
