Huawei put the Mate X foldable smartphone on sale again in China today, and the device sold out in minutes. This is the third time such is happening since the launch of the phone.

Only last week, we reported an instance of such a sale. The phone got a flash sale and sold out in minutes.

Today, the sale of the Mate X started at 10:08 AM local time in China. Huawei put it up for 16,999 Yuan (about $2,415). It’s quite interesting that a phone with such a huge price tag would sell out in minutes, and this is even the third time. However, Huawei has not revealed exactly how many units were sold.

Huawei recently disclosed the pricing for different parts of the phone as well as for repairing the phone. You may spend as much as 2,699 Yuan (roughly $384) for one-year screen insurance.

To replace the screen of your Huawei Mate X, you will spend as much as 7,080 Yuan. That is about $1,006. For battery replacement, you will be set back 278 Yuan (about $40). Motherboard repair will cost you 3,579 Yuan which is roughly $509. Camera replacement is priced at 698 Yuan (about $99).

Some third-party websites are reportedly selling the Huawei Mate X for as high as 60,000 Yuan (approximately $8,525). This is as a result of Huawei’s lack of adequate supply of the smartphone at the moment.

Huawei Mate X Key Features

The Huawei Mate X comes with an 8-inch display with 2480×2200 pixels resolution when unfolded. Upon folding it, you get a 6.6-inch display with 2480×1148 pixels resolution on one side and a 6.38-inch display with 2480×892 pixels resolution on the other side.

The device comes with dual-SIM support with only SIM 1 supporting 5G. It packs 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The SIM 2 slot is a hybrid slot that also works for Huawei’s NM card to expand storage by up to 256GB.

The Huawei Mate X is powered by two in-built batteries with a total capacity of 4,500mAh. It supports up to 55W fast charging with Huawei’s new SuperCharge fast charging technology. According to the company, the new SuperCharge can charge the Mate X from zero to 85 percent in 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, the Huawei Mate X is not the only foldable smartphone in the fight for the market right now. There is also the Samsung Galaxy Fold, and there is the Motorola razr 2019.
