The Huawei P20 Pro is an impressive device with some nice features that beat even the iPhone X. Huawei has been known for nice cameras, and the company went a notch higher with a triple camera system on the P20 Pro. Even the iPhone X does not have this. It’s a shame that just recently, Huawei was caught again faking a smartphone photo with a DSLR camera.
It is undeniable that Apple’s iPhone X is an amazing device which set the pace for things such as the notch on smartphones. The device also birthed the vertical placement of the rear camera unit. Powered by the A11 Bionic SoC, the iPhone X is certainly a performance powerhouse. It has an amazing camera, and enjoys wireless charging.
When the iPhone X came to play last year, there were trolls about it online. However, users have not really complained much about the device. This does not mean that it has no downsides though. Early tests by users showed that the glass body could easily break if the phone was dropped even from low heights.
This post is a sort of comparison between the Huawei P20 Pro and the iPhone X. It covers five of the P20 Pro’s features which beat the iPhone X. So, without wasting much time, here are five features that the Huawei P20 Pro packs and Apple’s iPhone X lacks.
Huawei P20 Pro Vs. iPhone X: Camera
High quality camera is one of the deciding factors for a lot of people when choosing what phone to buy. In this regard, Apple’s iPhone X definitely has one of the best smartphone cameras out there.
The iPhone X enjoys a dual camera setup with two 12MP sensors which boast of wide-angle at f/1.8 and telephoto at f/2.4. Both sensors have optical image stabilization, and the iPhone X camera setup generally has beautifully saturated colors and plenty of detail.
The Huawei P20 Pro, on the other hand, has a triple camera sensor, packing three lenses on the rear. One of these sensors, the RGB camera, goes as high as 40MP. The other two are an 8MP telephoto lens and a 20MP monochrome lens. With 5x hybrid zoom (or 3x optical zoom), the P20 Pro’s camera setup produces a lot of detail in photos. It also offers some of the best night shots and videos.
Even when talking about the front camera, Huawei P20 Pro still beats the iPhone X. As against the iPhone X’s 7MP sensor, the P20 Pro packs a 24MP lens which takes amazing selfies.
Huawei P20 Pro Vs. iPhone X: RAM and Internal Memory
Over time, Apple’s iOS has been commonly accepted to be better than Android, working more smoothly. The company’s smartphones have never exactly been sluggish in performance.
On the iPhone X, Apple went with 3GB of RAM. This means that the device works fast and very smoothly. Also, the base variant of the iPhone X comes with 64GB of internal storage for users to store their files.
The P20 Pro enjoys double the RAM on the iPhone X. That’s a whopping 6GB of RAM on the device. It also has an internal memory of 128GB on the base variant. This is also double of what is obtained on the base variant of the iPhone X.
It is of note that the iPhone X has a 256GB variant. However, this variant comes at a higher price.
Huawei P20 Pro Vs. iPhone X: Battery
When going for a new device, a lot of users usually look out for a large battery pack. Of course, what is the use of all the amazing features if you do not have a good battery to enjoy them?
Apple’s iPhone X is powered by a 2,716mAh battery. This capacity is not exactly very small, and it can last quite a while. But it is no match to the 4,000mAh battery pack that powers the Huawei P20 Pro.
A phone’s screen, processor and software usually determine the rate of battery consumption. Both the P20 Pro and the iPhone X have AMOLED displays. This means that if both devices are subjected to the same usage, the P20 Pro’s battery will likely last longer that the iPhone X’s.
Huawei P20 Pro Vs. iPhone X: Screen Size
Screen size is also another major determining factor when buying a smartphone. A bigger screen generally gives more flexibility of use. Gamers and movie lovers usually like big screens. Both the P20 Pro and the iPhone X have large screens.
While Apple’s iPhone X sports a 5.8-inch display with a 1125p resolution, the Huawei P20 Pro enjoys a 6.1-inch screen with a resolution of 1080p. The P20 Pro’s display is a little taller than that of the iPhone X.
Huawei P20 Pro Vs. iPhone X: Dual-SIM Support
One of the biggest advantages of Android devices over Apple’s iPhones is the general support for dual-SIM. iPhones have never offered this capability. This is not different with the Huawei P20 Pro and the iPhone X.
Apple’s iPhone X lacks dual-SIM support, but reports have it that Apple may start to offer dual-SIM support soon too. Before then, however, the Huawei P20 Pro still has that advantage over the iPhone X.
This post is not exactly a review of either device. It is simply a comparison of the two phones based on five features that the Huawei P20 Pro packs and the iPhone X lacks. Huawei also plans the release of two new gradient color variants of the P20 Pro on August 30. Of course, there are features which the iPhone X packs and the Huawei P20 Pro lacks as well.
