This may spell a boost to smartphone penetration in Nigeria.
A telecommunications company, Matrix, is preparing to offer a suite of high-end smartphones to millions of Nigerians.
Reports gotten earlier suggested that the devices, neatly packaged, would be available for online purchase on Monday, 26th March, 2018. However, as at the time of filing this report, Smartphone Camp has not gotten any information on this.
The first set of devices to be rolled out by Matrix include Apple’s iPhone 6, iPhone 6+, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s+, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7+. Matrix however said that other smartphone brands would be added with time.
Chief Executive Officer, Matrix Certified Pre-Owned, Dimeji Matesun, said:
At Matrix, we are eager to offer Nigerians more options with a range of genuine, affordable and pre-owned smartphones. These devices are good as new and are guaranteed to lower the entry point for millions of Nigerians who would have found it difficult to put up the considerable sums required to buy the brand-new models. Our motivation is to see more Nigerians make the transition from feature phones to smartphones without necessarily burning a huge hole in their finances.
Many interested Nigerians have already embraced the pre-order campaign, considering the fact that they would reportedly enjoy freebies which include free Apple ear pods, phone cases, wall chargers, and data cables.
In addition to the freebies, Matrix pre-owned devices also come with one-year warranty with full technical and customer service support.
On the pre-order page, a customer can extend the warranty period at a cost.
