OnePlus co-founder and CEO, Pete Lau recently assumed the role of Senior Vice President and Chief Product Experience Officer at Ouija Holdings Ltd., the famous owners of OnePlus, OPPO, and Realme. With his new position, he is reported to be responsible for the synergy between the brands.
Realme later on clarified that Pete won’t play an active role in the brand since OPPO patents Realme X50 Pro’s design with its branding. Although there isn’t anything new about the design patent which was filed by Guangdong OPPO Mobile Telecommunications to CNIPA (China National Intellectual Property Administration) on February 20, it only got published on the 1st of September 2020 after approval.
The Realme X50 Pro had its debut in India as the country and brand’s first 5G smartphone on February 24. This occurred four (4) days after the device’s design patent was filed by OPPO.
The smartphone was also available in the Chinese market in March and the European market in May. The Realme X50 Pro is also said to be available in Southeast Asia, making the device available for purchase in almost all foreign and local markets.
