The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is the biggest phone in the Galaxy S20 series. Its display comes in at a whopping 6.9 inches. Samsung announced the Galaxy S20 Ultra alongside the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ on February 11, 2020. The phone went on sale on March 6, 2020.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is taller and thicker than both the S20 and S20+. It has a bigger camera and also weighs more than the two devices. Just like the other two devices in the series, the Galaxy S20 Ultra features an aluminum frame, a glass front and a glass back, Gorilla Glass 6 on both sides. It supports always-on display.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra uses the Exynos 990 or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset, just like the other phones in the series. However, one of the main highlights of the phone is its 108MP primary camera. Other phones that sport a 108MP camera are the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 and the Mi 10 series.

The S20 Ultra sports a quad-camera setup comprising a 108MP shooter, a 48MP camera, a 12MP camera, and a 0.3MP ToF depth sensor. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging, 25W fast Qi/ PMA wireless charging, and 9W power bank/ reverse wireless charging.

The Samsung Galaxy S20+ sports a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X capacitive touchscreen. The display has a resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and approximately 511 ppi density. It has approximately 89.9% screen-to-body ratio. Its large display offers a bigger view than the regular Galaxy S20 and the S20+.

OS and Chipset

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra runs One UI 2, based on Android 10. It has a variant that uses the Exynos 990 chipset and another that uses the Snapdragon 865 SoC.

CPU, GPU, and Storage

The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra uses an octa-core (2×2.73GHz Mongoose M5, 2×2.50GHz Cortex-A76, and 4×2.0GHz Cortex-A55) or octa-core (1×2.84GHz Kyro 585, 3×2.42GHz Kyro 585, and 4×1.8GHz Kyro 585) CPU. It has variants of Mali-G77 MP11 GPU and Adreno 650 GPU. The device offers you 12GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage in the base variant. It goes as high as 16GB and 512GB respectively in the highest storage variant. The internal storage is expandable via a microSDXC which uses the shared SIM slot.

Camera

In the camera department, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra comes with a quad-camera setup on the rear. The setup comprises a 108MP wide camera with PDAF and OIS, a 48MP telephoto camera with PDAF, OIS, and 10x hybrid optical zoom, a 12MP ultrawide camera with Super Steady video, and a 0.3MP Time of Flight depth sensor. The camera setup supports auto-HDR and panorama. Right next to the cameras is an LED flash. On the front of the device sits a 40MP wide camera with PDAF.
