Samsung is working on Galaxy A71 5G with Exynos 980 SoC and 128GB Storage

Samsung is working on a new phone with 5G support in the Galaxy A series, reports reveal. Having a model number SM-A7160, the phone may be the Galaxy A71 5G. However, the branding of the phone is not yet confirmed.

According to reports, this phone will be a mid-range phone sporting the Exynos 980 chipset. This means that the Galaxy A71 5G will likely be an affordable smartphone for its specs.

The SM-A7160 will likely be a Chinese variant of the Galaxy A71 5G. The Galaxy A71 for the global market will reportedly come with model number SM-A715F. Going by Samsung’s way of assigning model number to phones, the global 5G version of the phone will likely be the SM-A716B.

The Samsung Galaxy A71 will come with 128GB of internal storage. We expect it to come with a quad-camera setup on the rear. This setup will include a 48MP main shooter, a 12MP wide-angle camera, a 12MP telephoto shooter with 2x optical zoom, and a Time of Flight (ToF) sensor.

Samsung is yet to reveal the launch date of the Galaxy A71 5G. However, if the rumors and leaks are anything to go by, the device will be available by February or March 2020.

Meanwhile, we keep getting leaks about the upcoming Galaxy S11. It may come with a 108MP camera sensor. It may also feature “Space Zoom” as Samsung has trademarked this feature.
