Samsung revealed a few months ago that it had made a 108MP Camera sensor. Samsung made the camera sensor in conjunction with Xiaomi. Xiaomi has used the 108MP Camera Sensor in a couple of its smartphones (the only manufacturer to do so).
However, it appears the a 108-megapixel smartphone ISOCELL Bright HMX camera sensor could be used by Samsung for one of its smartphones. In the Samsung Camera app which shipped with the third One UI 2.0 beta released this week, there is support for 108MP output resolution. There is now support on the app for 108,000,000 pixels (108MPs).
However, there is nothing on the app which indicates that Galaxy S11 will be the first Samsung smartphone with a 108MP camera. The Samsung Galaxy S11 is tipped to possibly have a Space Zoom feature with a 108 primary camera sensor, which is not a certainty. Regardless, what is certain is that Samsung has not released support for the 108MP resolution without planning to ship the supportive hardware on an upcoming device.
Samsung has not hinted on which of its smartphones or when it’s going to use this sensor. But the obvious choice to have the feature many is the Galaxy S11.
