vivo S5 announced with Punch-Hole Display, Snapdragon 712 SoC, and 4,100mAh Battery

After so many leaks and rumors, vivo has officially announced the vivo S5. Judging by the specifications of the device, it is a mid-range smartphone.

The vivo S5 comes with a massive 6.44-inch screen with Super AMOLED display. With an aspect ratio of 20:9, the display boasts a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels. It promises a screen-to-body ratio of 91.38%. The device comes with an under-display fingerprint sensor.

The vivo S5 comes with a punch hole in the upper right corner of the display. This punch hole houses the device’s 32MP front camera.

On the back of the vivo S5, there is a quad-camera setup, arranged in a diamond formation. This setup includes a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide shooter, a 5MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro camera. Three of these cameras are in the diamond formation with the LED flash taking the fourth corner. The fourth camera is just below the diamond formation.

The vivo S5 cameras come with a super beauty algorithm and a feature that offers you 144 poses to choose from.

Under the hood of the vivo S5, we see that it is powered by the Snapdragon 712 SoC. This is coupled with 8GB of RAM. The device is available in two storage variants – 128GB and 256GB. It runs Android Pie-based Funtouch OS 9.2.

The device will be powered by a 4,100mAh battery with support for 22.5W fast charging.

vivo S5 Price and Availability

The vivo S5 comes with a price tag of CNY2,698 (about $385) for the 8GB+128GB variant. The 8GB+256GB variant will set you back CNY2,998 (about $428).

The device is available in three color options – Star Black, Phantom Blue, and Icelandic Blue.

The vivo S5 will go on sale in China from November 22, 2019. As of now, we do not yet have any word of its availability in other markets or if it will be launched globally.
