Vivo X30 and Vivo X30 Pro launched

After weeks of leaks and rumors, Vivo has officially announced two new phones for its X-line. The two phones, the Vivo X30 and Vivo X30 Pro, both come with 5G. They also use the Exynos 980, the first smartphones to use the processor. Samsung is also working on a Galaxy A71 5G with the same chipset.

Similarities between the Vivo X30 and the Vivo X30 Pro

Design-wise, the Vivo X30 and Vivo X30 Pro are quite similar. They both sport 2.98mm displays with a punch-hole at the top right corner. Both devices come in the same color variants and are covered in glass on both sides.

The Vivo X30 and Vivo X30 Pro both sport a 6.44-inch Super AMOLED display. The display has a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. The devices use an under-display fingerprint scanner. They also support face unlock for added protection.

One major highlight of the two devices is that they are powered by the Exynos 980 chipset. This is the first processor with an integrated 5G modem. The octa-core processor features Cortex-A77. Both devices come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB storage options.

Another similarity between the Vivo X30 and the X30 Pro is the battery. Both phones enjoy 4,350mAh of battery capacity with 33W Flash Charge support via USB Type-C.

The two phones run the new FunTouchOS 10. Something that is somewhat disappointing, however, is that the OS is based on Android 9 Pie and not Android 10.

The Vivo X30 comes with Backlight-HDR. This helps to take better photos regardless of the light source. The phone also boasts the Super Night Scene Mode 2.0. This mode offers brighter and more detailed night shots.

The Vivo X30 Pro, on the other hand, comes with a quad-camera setup on the rear. This setup also comprises a 64MP primary shooter, an 8MP ultrawide-angle shooter, and a 32MP professional portrait camera. The fourth camera is a 13MP periscope lens.
