WhatsApp for Android gets Facebook Messenger Rooms integration in new Beta update
1 min read
Facebook launched the Messenger Rooms feature last month and it went live a couple of days ago. Now, this feature is making its way to Facebook-owned WhatsApp, the popular chatting app.
This information comes from a report by WABetaInfo. The report disclosed that Facebook has integrated Messenger Rooms into WhatsApp for Android with the 2.20.163 beta update.
What the Messenger Rooms feature does on WhatsApp is that it offers a “Room” option to the share menu inside a chat. This option then directs you to Messenger to create a room. Here, you can have a group video call with up to 50 people. You can also create a Messenger Room from other parts of WhatsApp such as the Calls tab.
At the moment, the Messenger Rooms feature is only available to a limited number of beta users in a few countries. However, we expect it to get to more countries soon.
