This Valentine’s Day Special signifies more penetration by Xiaomi into the Indian smartphone market.
Only recently, Xiaomi overtook Samsung as the leading smartphone Company in the Indian market, and it does not seem that the Chinese Company is ready to stop anytime soon.
Xiaomi is already getting set to start its 2018 launch cycle, with invites sent to the media for a launch event to take place in New Delhi on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. It is likely that the Redmi Note 5 will make its debut at this launch event.
Last year, Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi 5 series, but it is likely that we will see a totally different device when the Redmi Note 5 is launched this week.
At the moment, not much is known about the Redmi Note 5. However, a few educational guesses can be made. The device will likely come with an 18:9 aspect ratio on a 5.99-inch 1080p display.
Considering the memory aspect, we may likely see 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Also, as has been the trend for a while, the device may likely come with a multiple-camera setup at the rear, like the Mi A1.
Already, Xiaomi disclosed last year, that it would focus more on the camera aspect of its devices. This means that it is only reasonable to expect upgrades in this area on the Redmi Note 5. From leaks so far, the device will come with a 16MP and 5MP dual-camera configuration at the back.
The Redmi Note 5 will run on the latest version of MIUI 9. However, the Company is yet to disclose whether it will run on Oreo or Nougat (as with many other newly released devices).
By Wednesday, when the Redmi Note 5 is launched, more information will be made available, and we will know if Xiaomi is making a smart start in 2018.
